Insure and Protect

With a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) and an active savings plan, I thought I was prepared for my kids’ future. Then I realized I was missing this one crucial piece.

Parenthood can sometimes make us feel like we are barely surviving. (Sleep much?) When your daily goal is making it to bedtime, it can be hard to think about the future. Yet as parents, we need to plan so that our kids are covered, no matter what life throws our way.

It wasn’t until I suspected I was pregnant with my third baby that I woke up from the fog of sleep deprivation caused by life with a toddler and infant, and realized my husband and I had overlooked a very important step in planning for our family’s future.

While we had a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) and a small savings account, if my husband and I were to pass away, my children would be left without adequate savings. The last thing I would want for my kids growing up without us would be having to go without because we didn’t plan properly.

With two young kids and a baby on the way, thankfully for CIBC Insurance, I was able to use my phone to find all the answers I needed easily online (before the kids woke up from their nap!) from the comfort of my home.

It wasn’t until I suspected I was pregnant with my third baby that I woke up from the fog of sleep deprivation caused by life with a toddler and infant, and realized my husband and I had overlooked a very important step in planning for our family’s future.

I used CIBC Insurance’s online calculator to help find an estimate of how much life insurance I might need for my growing family. I loved that I could even choose my coverage amount based on what premium would fit into our family budget.

Once I decided to apply, the application was easy for me to fill out with my mom brain, and instead of waiting weeks to find out if I was approved or not, I got an instant answer. Now, instead of wasting what little time I have to sleep worrying about my kids’ future, I can rest easy knowing CIBC Insurance has me covered.
