I have a theory about newborns and sleep.
You know how when you’re pregnant, the baby is always most active when you’re lying down? I have always suspected that after they’re born, babies somehow retain the ability to telepathically detect when their mother lies down. Even if that baby is sleeping soundly. In a crib. In another room. On another floor of the house. They know, and they will. Not. Stand for it. Baby logic dictates that parents must prove their love by sacrificing anywhere from 93-100% of their sleep. And to help keep you on your toes, newborn babies will graciously require that you hold them at all times.
ALL TIMES.
ALWAYS BE ROCKING. Always be swaying. Sway EXACTLY RIGHT. You can’t phone it in. Look alive, people!
If you’re a new recruit to parenting, you’re probably sea-sick (not to mention sleep-deprived) from all the rocking. This is normal. And you won’t be rocking forever, trust me. But in order to help you hang in there and not punch the next person who tells you to “treasure these moments,” our friends at The Baby Show are giving away a baby seat that can really save your sanity.
Chance to Win a Mamaroo of Your Own
The Mamaroo is no ordinary swing: instead of going back and forth, it actually bounces up and down, just like you do—it really mimics the movements that soothed your baby to sleep in the womb when you weren’t lying down. So you can get back in touch with being horizontal while your baby enjoys a snooze. Enter now for your chance to win!
